So after a discussion or two with more DIY-ness people I decided it wouldn't be that hard to change it myself. So I sent Janice out for the afternoon in case it took longer than I thought (having only one loo isn't alwyas good....) and discovered that the most time consuming part was getting the old loo out as it was cemented down AND had a huge lump of it underneath too.
Nearly got it all |
The good news was that I got some more use out of my lump hammer and other tools of destruction.
Then after some fiddling to get things in the small space it all installed easily AND no leaks :)
All sparkly and new, just needs the sealant to finish (no cement this time) |
Half an hour to refill and only a single flush? That sounds like a hassle! No wonder you decided to take the plunge and expand your plumbing know-how. And you did it without any problems! Every homeowner should have a bit of plumbing expertise.
